The Rotating Credit Club (RCC) format is simple: each time we meet, a few members of the Civic Collaboratory present a major initiative or challenge they’re working on. Then the rest of us provide specific and firm commitments of help. This is a mutual investment of capital: social, intellectual, institutional, and sometimes financial. It’s what has made the National Civic Collaboratory a uniquely influential cross-silo convening!

RCC presenters commit to:

  • Creating a 5-7 minute presentation
  • Following up with members who make commitments
  • Sharing updates on their project and feedback on their experience
  • Keeping the cycle of mutuality going by attending future Civic Collaboratory gatherings after presenting

The best RCC projects are past the concept phase and lend themselves to a variety of people being able to help see it to completion. Ideas that you are seeking to “test out” or get feedback on are not ideal here. Members need to have attended at least one Civic Collaboratory convening in order for their RCC proposal to be considered.

RCC proposals for the July National Civic Collaboratory are due on June 20, 2025. We will let everyone who submits know the status of their proposal.

Is your project focused on a specific timeframe or is this an ongoing initiative? What phase are you in? How do your asks fit within the timeline?
Think about what resources the room has to offer. What could help make your project successful? (Examples: space for your event or to hold program activities; connections to people with particular knowledge, skills or perspectives; connections to other orgs, volunteers, advocates to help spread a message)
