We know that civic learning experiences are stronger when they are filled with people from different backgrounds and experiences. We collect demographic data to help us understand who we are reaching in an effort to be increasingly equitable and accessible. Please feel welcome to write in “prefer not to say” for any question below. Your personal information will stay private — we will never give, trade, or sell your individual details to anyone.

We will host a virtual orientation in late August, and three calls in the six months after Civic Seminary). We’re still looking for a time that will work for everyone.

Who should we be in touch with?

We strive to host inclusive, accessible experiences that enable all participants to engage fully, including individuals with disabilities, faith or cultural considerations, or any specific access needs. The program takes place in English, and involves lots of discussion, interactive exercises, and use of audio-visual media and printed materials. Participation will also involve logistics of all kinds — from transportation to/from the airport, hotel, meeting space and restaurants; to a full schedule each day; and many things in between. We will do our best to organize the experience responsively with the information you share in mind.

Help us get a sense of how you are coming into Civic Seminary! The following questions ask about your familiarity with the core concepts that anchor the learning experience. Please answer honestly based on what you know now, and trust that we will get into these ideas in more depth during our time together.

Then, think about why you are participating in this experience—and what will make it work well for you. What will make this a healthy environment for learning and growth among the cohort? What agreements can we establish from the beginning, to ensure this becomes a community in which we each grow, and grow together? Consider the last two prompts.
