Hanmin Liu is president of Wildflowers Institute and a trustee of the W. K. Kellogg Foundation. Wildflowers maps the informal ways that things get done in a community and leaders who quietly make a difference. Since founding Wildflowers, Hanmin has led studies and produced documentaries with artists from Aztec, Cambodian, Chinese, Filipino, Laotian hill-tribes, Mayan, and Southwest indigenous communities. Currently, Wildflowers is applying its mapping process to preserving the underground art scene in the Tenderloin. The U.S. Patent Office awarded Hanmin a patent for inventing Model-building, a system and method that improve intra- and inter-cultural communications.
