Alison Holcomb is the national director of the ACLU Campaign to End Mass Incarceration and criminal justice director of ACLU Washington. She was the primary author of the initiative (I-502) to legalize marijuana for recreational use in Washington – and directed the campaign that led to its passage. Alison practiced as a trial attorney for thirteen years, representing marijuana defendants in criminal and civil asset forfeiture proceedings in state and federal court. She received her B.A. from Stanford University and her J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law.
